Giving the Gift of Smiles Since 2010
We restore hope and provide a brighter future for children whose lives are burdened by cleft lip and cleft palate. Since 2010, we have completed 18 Medical Missions and more than 900 life-changing surgeries across the world!
When I was pregnant, my doctor thought I may have a miscarriage, due to my history. I had multiple ultrasounds during the pregnancy, and everything looked good. When my baby was born, she had a cleft lip. I was shocked, sad and worried. I didn’t know what to do. When she was a few months old, I saw an announcement that Mending Faces was coming to Santo Domingo for Cleft surgeries, so I contacted the hospital. Thank goodness, she was able to have the surgery. I’m so happy and grateful to Mending Faces. My baby will grow up with a beautiful smile. I’m so thankful!

While it's hard to digest the happenings of a week-long Medical Mission, and put the experience into words, the volunteers are what make everything exceptional. Regardless of race, religion or country of origin, everyone comes together to do something inspiring for generations to come. We each play our separate parts and when our efforts come together, the results speak for themselves: an impoverished, but extraordinary group of children, have reason and ability to smile and communicate without fear or limitation.
